LoDubs: ECHOBOY

For the next release on US EDM record label LODUBS the direction was to make a 1980's style illustration popular with Jamaican music promotions and Album art. LODUBS provided inspiration.

So I drew a DJ with a microphone and a girl dancing also redrew the label logo in my hand writing.

INSPIRATION provided by the client:

Comic pages featuring colorful illustrations of people and animals, with speech bubbles containing humorous dialogue, and a background with text and logos.

LoDubs: FOR THE CATS

Originally the direction for illustrating the record labels for US Bass EDM label LUDUBS  was to make a comic book character based on these references.

A colorful web page promoting LoDubs Records' XI - PartyDun EP with a cartoon drawing of a face wearing sunglasses. The page features music controls, album details, and options to buy or stream the digital album.

INSPIRATION provided by the client:

INITAL SKETCH

A stylized line drawing of an angry face with exaggerated features, wearing a cap and winking. The words "Lo Dubs" are written next to the face, and the background has yellow and gray abstract lines.

However after talking to the graphic designer doing the layout of the label we talked about doing one of my original cat quick sketches as the name of the song in the B side of the record is FOR THE CATS.

FINAL DESIGN AND PRODUCT
A slip mat for the turntables was made with the B side label of the cats and the record label on the B side.

Wine label

Wine label illustration, water color, for a Wine label from Santa Barbara Ca, I painted the front part of the wine store with water color on paper. It was made into a table and I thought it would make a great blamncket.
